Poppy Day

Since 1922 Poppy Day has been an annual event on the Friday before Anzac Day. It is the most important fundraising appeal of the year for the RSA.

Donations to the Poppy Day Appeal go directly to the RSA Welfare Fund and are used specifically for the assistance of returned servicemen and women and their dependants in need. Donations made in your area go to the RSA welfare Fund in your area.

On Poppy Day RSA volunteers throughout New Zealand offer red poppy buttonholes in exchange for a donation. The poppy serves to remind the wearer of the sacrifice of life made in times of war, and to show support for the valuable welfare work of the RSA.
